FIKY FIKY is a natural wine project showcasing grape varietals that grow best in California’s ever-changing climate. Our mission is to bring about excitement for unique California terroir by making wines with little to no intervention in the cellar.

Our belief is that 99% of winemaking happens in the vineyard and the other 1% is not messing it up in the cellar. We use old-world techniques to give the active ferments and finished wines a healthy environment to evolve and become the truest versions of themselves. It is our experience that wines made this way tend to be infinitely more expressive of the time and place they were born.

We use “Négociant” fruit from diligent farmers who employ regenerative + sustainable practices, and farm the land organically and/or biodynamically with no synthetic chemical applications to the vines or soil.

The name “FIKY FIKY” comes from an old Italian disco song and playfully refers to a one-night stand. The parallel here is that natural wines (like people) are alive and always evolving, and no two bottles will ever be exactly the same. Once it is open, it changes even faster, and once it is gone, it’s gone. So rather than falling in love with one bottle and hoping to replicate it again and again … let go of expectations and enjoy where a particular wine is in the moment and who you share it with, because you’ll never experience it all the same way again.
